Fibeo Ltd has announced the appointment of Liam Ronan as its Chairman, marking a key step in the company’s board and governance development as it advances its long-term strategy.
Ronan is the former Technology Chief of FTSE 100 housebuilder Persimmon plc and the founder and architect of FibreNest, the full-fibre broadband business launched within the Persimmon Group in 2017. He led FibreNest from inception through to commercial success, establishing a vertically integrated broadband business delivering full-fibre connectivity to new-build homeowners across the UK. The business later attracted a £550 million discounted cash flow valuation from Jefferies Equity Research.
During his time at FibreNest, Ronan developed a delivery model focused on improving the connectivity experience for new-home purchasers while generating long-term, non-cyclical shareholder value. By combining network ownership with direct retail delivery, the business achieved strong service performance and customer satisfaction within a competitive market - an approach that aligns closely with Fibeo’s strategy and long-term objectives.
Commenting on his appointment, Liam Ronan said: “Fibeo presents an opportunity to build a broadband business with clarity of purpose and strong commercial foundations. From the outset, there has been alignment around how the business should be structured, governed and scaled, now directly informed by my experience operating at the intersection of digital infrastructure and large-scale property development. I’m looking forward to working with Caelan to shape and execute Fibeo’s long-term plans.”
Founder Caelan Grant added: “Liam’s appointment significantly strengthens Fibeo at board level. His achievements at FibreNest speak for themselves, and having that depth of experience involved at this stage brings a level of rigour, discipline and perspective that is invaluable as we move from strategy into execution.”
Following Ronan’s appointment, Fibeo has already carried out an early review of the company’s strategy, operating model and long-term direction. As a result, the business now confirms a strategic pivot towards a customer-aligned ownership model, intended to better connect service quality, governance and long-term value creation as the company scales.
As part of this next stage, Grant and Ronan will now work together to build out Fibeo’s senior leadership team, with immediate plans to appoint a Chief Technology Officer and Chief Financial Officer to support operational delivery, financial governance and future growth.
Fibeo welcomes interest from potential high-calibre, service-driven and commercially-disciplined candidates, especially those with prior communications industry experience. Enquiries can be directed to:
